It is not the intention of this page to provide a history of Tri-ang railways or even to provide information on the models, a search on the net will produce no end of results as Tri-ang railways have quite a large following , but rather to share some of the enjoyment I still have in running these vintage model railways.
I can almost remember when Dad brought home this Tri-ang model of Australia's Victorian Railways B Class GM loco in 1971.

Old Tri-ang engines just keep going, kept maintained and with a good power supply they will happily pull a good size rake of coaches or wagons. I can run a double header, say twin VR diesels, with up to 10 stock wagons or blue transcontinental coaches with no problems. In comparison to modern model railways which use locomotives featuring greatly improved pulling power coupled to stock with a very light draw bar pull, these old loco's really sound like they are doing some work which coupled to the sound of the rolling stock bouncing and clicking over the rail joints really adds to the pleasure of operating these old trains, needless to say the kids (of all ages) love them as well.
